Cosmetic Circumcision Surgery
A circumcision is an operation that removes the foreskin (the loose tissue) covering the glans (rounded tip) of the penis. Some men who were circumcised at birth are not satisfied with the cosmetic appearance of their penile skin. Sometimes excess skin can be present on the undershaft (ventral) of the penis, which causes a "hooded" appearance of the penis. In other situations, too much skin can be removed from the undershaft (ventral) part of the penis, which causes a webbed appearance of the penis. Men may want to correct the penoscrotal webbing, as it can make the penis appear shorter than the actual length.
Cosmetic circumcision as performed by Dr. Ashutosh Shah often overlooked in adult circumcisions performed by generalists is the cosmetic appearance of the erect penis after circumcision. This is a procedure performed for hygiene purposes and therefore does not receive the same attention as other cosmetic procedures. However, great care has been taken in our hands so that the penis has an excellent cosmetic appearance during an erection.
For this reason, before skin removal, an artificial erection is induced in all patients to accurately determine the amount of skin to be excised. In addition to improved hygiene and self-esteem, after cosmetic circumcision, patients are very pleased with the appearance of their penis.
